This piece was created in multiple steps, but first by selecting three photographs that had a special place in my heart. While living in New York as a child, my grandpa and I used to go on hikes in the woods and spend quality time with one another on Sundays. Since moving to North Carolina, this rarely happens and it's something I reminisce on often. I then printed the photographs and transferred them to a screen to begin screen printing. I selected calm and moody colors to further explain the feeling of sadness and loneliness. In the center is a picture of my grandpa and you see him fading across the plane as he is printed in another color, representing how the distance has made our time apart minimal.
